A contracted driver at MMG Ltd.'s Las Bambas copper mine in Peru died following a roadaccident near the town of Antuyo in the Cotabambas province.

The Las Bambas mine achieved July 1. Itproduced 31,470 tonnes of copper in concentrate in the first quarter, pushingthe company's copper-in-concentrate production in the period to 35,515 tonnes —a 337% jump year over year.
