H&M partners with recycling firm in sustainability initiative

Fashion retailer H&M Hennes & Mauritz AB said Oct. 10 that it teamed up with Swedish company re:newcell as part of its effort to switch to 100% recycled or other sustainably sourced material by 2030.

Re:newcell's technology recycles used cotton, viscose and other cellulosic fibers into a dissolving pulp, which can be converted into new textile fibers.

The partnership was disclosed at the 2017 TextileExchange Sustainability Conference in Washington, D.C.
