KFC Japan fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

KFC Holdings Japan Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was ¥24.35 per share, a decline of 11.2% from ¥27.41 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥546.3 million, a decline of 11.2% from ¥615.0 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 2.3% from 2.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose year over year to ¥24.23 billion from ¥23.46 billion, and total operating expenses increased from the prior-year period to ¥23.33 billion from ¥22.49 billion.

Reported net income decreased 17.4% year over year to ¥445.0 million, or ¥19.84 per share, from ¥539.0 million, or ¥24.02 per share.

As of Feb. 6, US$1 was equivalent to ¥119.01.
