Poona Dal & Oil Industries fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Poona Dal & Oil Industries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 56 Indian paise per share, a decline of 21.9% from 72 paise per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 3.2 million rupees, a decline of 21.5% from 4.1 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 0.8% from 0.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell 44.3% year over year to 426.6 million rupees from 766.3 million rupees, and total operating expenses decreased 44.1% on an annual basis to 424.3 million rupees from 759.5 million rupees.

Reported net income fell 22.1% year over year to 3.5 million rupees, or 62 paise per share, from 4.5 million rupees, or 80 paise per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to 62.03 Indian rupees.
