Carlyle Group LP closed two collateralized loan obligation funds — an approximately $613 million U.S. CLO fund and a European one totaling about €464 million.
Carlyle U.S. CLO 2017-3 Ltd, arranged by Morgan Stanley, will primarily invest in senior secured leveraged loans. Carlyle Euro CLO 2017-2, arranged by Citigroup, has a four-year reinvestment period, a two-year noncall period and final maturity in August 2030.
The funds are Carlyle's third in the U.S. and second in Europe for 2017, making five global CLOs closed this year. The firm's structured credit and CLO business has approximately $20 billion in assets under management.
