Slovenian Sovereign Holding said Jan. 19 that that it intends to proceed with the privatization of Nova Ljubljanska Banka d.d., amid reports suggesting that Slovenia could seek the European Commission's approval to extend the deadline of the sale beyond 2017, Reuters reported the same day.
Slovenian Finance Minister Mateja Vranicar Erman is projected to discuss legal issues regarding the NLB sale with European Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager in the week of Jan. 23, according to the report.
Meanwhile, the privatization coordinator said that the government plans to sell Abanka d.d. in 2017, rather than by mid-2019 as initially planned, the news outlet noted.
