Chinese travel services provider Ctrip.com International Ltd. plans to launch a 24/7 customer center for its Trip.com brand in Seoul, South Korea, to cope with growing local demand, Yonhap News Agency reported Oct. 10, citing CEO Jane Sun.
The plan includes airport pick-up services and sales of activity products in South Korea by the end of 2018, Sun reportedly said during a press conference in Seoul.
The expansion of Ctrip.com's services through Trip.com in South Korea is part of the company's move to increase its global presence, according to the report.
Sun reportedly also told reporters that Ctrip.com's Skyscanner Ltd. travel search site has "very good market share" in the country as it helps the company post "a three-digit growth in South Korea every year."
The executive added that Ctrip.com's growth potential in the country is "very huge" because the company's market share in South Korea is "single-digit," the report said.
