Barclays Bank of Zimbabwe changes name

Barclays Bank of Zimbabwe Ltd. changed its name to First Capital Bank Ltd. following a change of ownership in 2016, New Zimbabwe reported.

The name change is effective Oct. 8, when the bank began trading on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol FCAZW.

Malawi-based FMB Capital Holdings Plc acquired a 42.7% stake in Barclays Bank of Zimbabwe in October 2017, and will eventually become the lender's majority shareholder.
