Technology-focused private equity firm Silver Lake Partners tapped Barrett Karr as its head of government relations, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Karr, the chief of staff of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., will be replaced in that role by longtime McCarthy aide James Min on an interim basis.

Karr will join Silver Lake in two weeks, according to the publication.
