MDC Partners Inc. named Seth Gardner COO of the company starting June 17.

In this newly created role, Gardner will oversee the company's operations, real estate portfolio, IT, human resources and benefits, as well as centralized resources, according to a May 22 news release. He most recently was managing director, COO and chief legal officer of Carlyle Group LP's credit division.

MDC Partners also recently appointed Frank Lanuto CFO and Jonathan Mirsky general counsel of the company.

MDC Partners is an advertising and marketing holding company.
