El PasoElectric Co. set a new native system peak of 1,871 MW, breaking arecorded peak in 2015 by 77 MW, according to a July 15 news release.Although still unverified, El Paso Electric believes the new peak, set duringthe week of July 11 when daily high temperatures hit 104 degrees or higher,exceeded a June 23 record peak.
