Deutsche Telekom AG announced its partnership with utilities group EWE AG to build fiber joint venture Glasfaser Nordwest, which aims to serve up to 1.5 million households and companies.
The two companies will invest up to €2 billion over a period of 10 years to build out the network in parts of Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Bremen, according to a company statement. The development would start in Vechta, Belm and Cloppenburg, and then in Achim, Bremen, Bremerhaven, Delmenhorst, Emsdetten, Georgsmarienhütte, Oldenburg, Stade and Tostedt.
Glasfaser Nordwest's head office will be based in Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, and will have Christoph Meurer and Oliver Prostak as its top managers.
The Oldenburg office will have about 35 employees.
