Truett-Hurst swings to profit in fiscal Q2

Truett-Hurst Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, came to $27,500, compared with a loss of $209,880 in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin rose to 0.3% from negative 4.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 72.7% year over year to $8.5 million from $4.9 million, and total operating expenses increased 38.8% year over year to $8.0 million from $5.7 million.

Reported net income came to $187,200, or 3 cents per share, compared to a loss of $589,270, or a loss of 16 cents per share, in the prior-year period.
