Nisshin OilliO fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Nisshin OilliO Group Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to ¥14.76 per share, a decrease of 47.0% from ¥27.87 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥490.6 million, a decline of 47.0% from ¥926.1 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 0.5% from 1.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled ¥90.67 billion, compared with ¥90.40 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses grew year over year to ¥89.75 billion from ¥88.30 billion.

Reported net income decreased 30.8% year over year to ¥870.0 million, or ¥26.18 per share, from ¥1.26 billion, or ¥37.85 per share.

As of Feb. 10, US$1 was equivalent to ¥119.28.
