CenteneCorp.'s subsidiary Health Net Life Insurance Co. is seeking a premium rateincrease of 9.9% for off-exchange preferred provider organization individualand family plans in California for 2017.
The company said in a Form 8-K that it submitted its finalfiling for 2017 after completing its ongoing dialog with the CaliforniaDepartment of Insurance.
The company intends to eliminate out-of-network coverage forhome health and home infusion therapy and nonemergent out-of-state coverage andtravel network access. It also seeks elimination of the default rate of 75% ofbilled charges for out-of-network services that do not have a Medicare rate.
The company has sought an increase in the out-of-networkmaximum out-of-pocket level to $25,000 for individual plans and $50,000 forfamily plans. It requested an increase of $5,000 for individual and $10,000 forfamily plans for the out-of-network deductible for platinum and gold plans.
