Kohl's appoints new chairman

U.S. department store operator Kohl's Corp. disclosed in a May 11 SEC filing that it appointed Frank Sica as chairman of its board to replace Kevin Mansell, the company's departing CEO, president and chairman.

The appointment was made May 9 and will become effective at the end of company's annual stockholders' meeting on May 16, or any adjournment of the meeting.

Sica is a partner and managing partner at private equity firm Tailwind Capital.

Kohl's announced Mansell's retirement in September 2017.
