Winsome Breweries fiscal Q1 profit falls YOY

Winsome Breweries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 amounted to 5 Indian paise per share, a decrease of 33.2% from 8 paise per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 1.6 million rupees, a decrease of 28.8% from 2.2 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 0.7% from 1.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined year over year to 220.1 million rupees from 228.7 million rupees, and total operating expenses declined from the prior-year period to 217.0 million rupees from 224.3 million rupees.

Reported net income decreased 50.8% on an annual basis to 1.7 million rupees, or 6 paise per share, from 3.5 million rupees, or 13 paise per share.

As of Aug. 14, US$1 was equivalent to 60.85 Indian rupees.
