Genius Properties Ltd. changed its name to Cerro de Pasco Resources Inc. after recently closing the acquisition of Cerro de Pasco Resources SA and its El Metalurgista concession in Peru, which is prospective for gold, silver, zinc, lead and copper.
The company said Oct. 9 that it will trade on the Canadian Securities Exchange under the CDPR symbol.
In late August, the company closed its merger with Cerro de Pasco Resources SA through a reverse takeover, pursuant to an amended late 2017 agreement.
As part of the deal, Genius transferred all of its mining assets to subsidiary Genius Metals Inc. and issued 176,360,232 shares to the former Cerro de Pasco shareholders, which will be held in escrow and released in stages.
The spinout shares were conditionally approved to list on the CSE under the GENI symbol, with listing expected to be completed in the week of Oct. 15.
Genius Metals will hold all of the company's other assets and liabilities including the polymetallic Robelin property and the Sakami gold property in Quebec, and the Meaghers gold property in Nova Scotia.
