Bank of China opens Peru office

Bank of China Ltd. has opened a representative office in Peru to promote trade and bilateral investment between the two countries, El Comercio reported, citing comments by the bank's Peru manager, Xiao Lijun.

The state-owned bank has organized visits by Peruvian companies to China to explore business opportunities, Lijun said, adding that there is strong potential for the export of high-quality Peruvian products to China.

Bank of China also expects to have a good relationship with another Chinese bank operating in Peru, ICBC Peru Bank, Lijun reportedly said.
