Fairmont, W. Va.-based MVB Financial Corp.'s board elected David Alvarez as chairman and named Cheryl Spielman as a member of the board.

Alvarez has been interim chairman since August 2018, following the death of former chairman Stephen Brooks.

Spielman previously was a board member of First Republic Bank. She is a former partner at Ernst & Young.
