Grocery store operator Carrefour SA said March 15 that it bought a majority stake in French startup Quitoque, which sells online meal kits.
Quitoque offers a variety of recipes to make at home with local, organic and seasonal products, delivered to customers through a subscription system.
Carrefour said the startup has 60 employees and has delivered nearly 3 million meals throughout France. Quitoque will continue to be managed by its co-founders.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
