Quarles sworn in as Fed governor

Randal Quarles on Oct. 13 took his oath of office as a governor of the Federal Reserve.

He is also the regulator's first-ever vice chairman for supervision and the first new member since the nomination of Lael Brainard in 2014.

The U.S. Senate confirmed Quarles' nomination Oct. 5.
