London Biscuits Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended Sept. 30 came to 2 Malaysian sen per share, an increase from 2 sen per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 3.5 million ringgits, a gain of 5.0% from 3.3 million ringgits in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 3.8% from 3.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew on an annual basis to 90.6 million ringgits from 87.6 million ringgits, and total operating expenses increased on an annual basis to 81.7 million ringgits from 77.9 million ringgits.

Reported net income rose from the prior-year period to 5.2 million ringgits, or 3 sen per share, from 5.1 million ringgits, or 3 sen per share.

As of Nov. 30, US$1 was equivalent to 4.25 ringgits.
