North Dakota gas and oil production was relatively flat in November, with gas wells producing 52.9 Bcf in the month, or 1.80 Bcf/d, while oil production came in at 31 million barrels, or 1.03 MMbbl/d, according to preliminary figures released by the state Industrial Commission.

For October, the state recorded adjusted gas production of 53.3 Bcf, or 1.72 Bcf/d, while adjusted oil production was 32.3 MMbbl, or 1.04 MMbbl/d.

The top-producing county for gas in November was McKenzie, with 26.3 Bcf. Williams County came in second, at 9.4 Bcf.

McKenzie was also the biggest oil producer in November, with 12.3 MMbbl produced, while Mountrail County came second, with 6.3 MMbbl.

Of the state's 15,380 wells capable of production in November, 13,517 were in use, leaving 1,863 wells sitting idle.
