Nordex to supply 269 MW of wind turbines for US project

German turbine manufacturer Nordex SE said Aug. 5 that it secured an order of 56 wind turbines, totaling 269 MW, for an unnamed project in the northern U.S.

The order includes a two-year service contract, according to a company news release.

The turbines will be operated in the 4.8-MW mode and will be supplied in the "Cold Climate" version, allowing for an extended operating range to an outside temperature of negative 30 degrees C.

Project installation will start in summer 2020.
