Nan Ya Plastics profit misses consensus by 16.9% in Q2

Nan Ya Plastics Corp. said its normalized net income for the second quarter was 91 Taiwan cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of NT$1.09 per share.

EPS rose 12.3% year over year from 81 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$7.20 billion, an increase of 12.3% from NT$6.41 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 9.7% from 9.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 8.6% year over year to NT$74.11 billion from NT$68.24 billion, and total operating expenses increased 5.6% from the prior-year period to NT$68.41 billion from NT$64.79 billion.

Reported net income grew 8.0% on an annual basis to NT$9.03 billion, or NT$1.14 per share, from NT$8.36 billion, or NT$1.05 per share.

As of Aug. 14, US$1 was equivalent to NT$30.29.
