Director moves through Dec. 16

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a weekly rundown of recent board changes in the metals and mining industry. The moves are listed in chronological order.

Dec. 12

Giles Kirkley Willits was named as a nonexecutive director of Aurum Mining Plc, with immediate effect.

Lakeside Minerals Inc. directors Peter Cashin and Rick Cleath resigned from the company's board, effective Dec. 12, while David Posner, Hamish Sutherland and Robert Schwartz were appointed as new directors of the company.

Jacques Perron joined the board of Osisko Gold Royalties Ltd. as a new director. Perron was most recently the CEO of Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc., which was acquired by Centerra Gold Inc. in October.

Francois Colette and Bertrand Boulle were elected as new directors of Diamond Fields International Ltd. Meanwhile, Ian Ransome did not stand for re-election to the company's board.

Pacific Potash Corp. director Min Zhai stepped down from the company's board, effective immediately, due to personal matters.

Carlo Nigro resigned as a director of Xander Resources Inc. at the company's Nov. 29 annual general meeting.

Rift Valley Resources Corp. director William Grossholz stepped down from the company's board but will continue to provide advisory and accounting services to the company. Meanwhile, Thomas John Kennedy joined Rift Valley's board as a new director.

Dec. 13

Tim Kennedy was appointed as an independent nonexecutive director of Sipa Resources Ltd. Kennedy formerly served as an exploration manager for Independence Group NL.

DiamondCorp Plc nonexecutive director Jonathan Willis-­Richards stepped down from the company's board, effective immediately.

Wenting Chen was named as a nonexecutive director of Greenland Minerals & Energy Ltd. to be the representative of Shenghe Resources Holding Ltd., which acquired a 12.5% shareholding in Greenland Minerals.

Lincoln Mining Corp. director Robert Schafer resigned from the company's board.

Dec. 14

Debra Bakker was appointed as an independent nonexecutive director of Independence Group NL.

Kofi Ansah and Alan Hill retired as nonexecutive directors of Gold Fields Ltd., effective Dec. 31.

Jet Metal Corp. director Don Sorochan will move to a position on the company's advisory board and will be replaced by Stan Gadek as a Jet Metal director. Gadek agreed to join Jet Metal's board upon completion of the company's business combination transaction with Canada Jetlines Ltd.

Golden Star Resources Ltd. Chairman Timothy Baker was added to the board of Rye Patch Gold Corp. as an independent director. Baker also serves as a director of Antofagasta Plc and Sherritt International Corp.

Iluka Resources Ltd. nonexecutive director Gavin Rezos retired from the company's board, effective Dec. 14.

Zhengquan Chen was named as a director of Delrand Resources Ltd.

Timothy Keating was appointed as a nonexecutive director of Kore Potash Ltd. Keating is also a nonexecutive director of Kenmare Resources Plc.

Dec. 15

Craig Parry joined the board of Skeena Resources Ltd. as an independent director. Parry is also a co-founder and a director of NexGen Energy Ltd.

Dec. 16

IAMGOLD Corp. and Noront Resources Ltd. director Sybil Veenman will also join the board of Royal Gold Inc. as a new director, effective Jan. 1, 2017.

John Proust and Michael Andrews were added to the board of Tethyan Resources Plc as nonexecutive directors, effective immediately, to represent Southern Arc Minerals Inc. on Tethyan's board. Proust is currently Southern Arc's chairman and CEO, while Andrews serves as Southern Arc's president and COO.
