Archer-Daniels-Midland Co.-owned ADM Milling Co. is recalling five-pound bags of flour that were packaged for supermarket chain Aldi Einkauf GmbH & Co. oHG over E. coli concerns, according to a May 23 notice.

The bags of all-purpose flour under the Baker's Corner brand were manufactured at ADM's flour mill in Buffalo, N.Y., and were distributed in select retail outlets across Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia.

The affected items bear lot numbers Lot L18A02 and L18A03 and best-before dates of Dec. 2 and Dec. 3.

ADM said Aldi has already recalled all potentially impacted products from its shelves, as well as other ADM retail flour products packaged for Aldi in the northeastern part of the U.S. as a precaution.

People who contract E. coli infections could experience severe stomach cramps, diarrhea and vomiting, according to the recall notice.

Consumers who may have bought the items are encouraged to discard them immediately or return them to their place of purchase for a full refund, ADM said.
