FERC green-lights Energy Capital's sale of 850.5-MW SC plant

FERC has approved Energy Capital Partners LLC's proposed sale of the850.5-MW BroadRiver dual-fuel, simple-cycle facility in South Carolina to NoonanAcquisition Co. LLC.

The Cherokee County-based facility runs on natural gas andlow sulfur distillate fuel and consists of five GE F-class turbines. It sellspower to Duke Energy ProgressLLC under two long-term contracts, expiring 2021 and 2022.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Duke Energy Progress is a Duke Energy Corp. subsidiary. Noonan Acquisition isowned by Arroyo Energy Investors Fund II GP LP. (EC16-165)
