Credit Suisse names chief investment officer for Switzerland

Credit Suisse Group AG named Burkhard Varnholt chief investment officer for Switzerland, with effect from Jan. 1, 2017.

Varnholt will take over from Anja Hochberg and will assume the role in addition to his responsibilities as deputy global chief investment officer and vice chairman of Credit Suisse's investment committee. He will report to Michael Strobaek, global chief investment officer and head of investment solutions and products, as well as to Credit Suisse (Switzerland) Ltd. CEO Thomas Gottstein.

Credit Suisse hired Varnholt earlier in 2016 from Julius Bär Gruppe AG, where he had been chief investment officer.

Hochberg will continue as head of investment services and will remain a member of the investment committee.
