National CapitalBank of Washington appointed Thomas Barnes chairman and Richard AndersonJr. president and CEO of the Washington, D.C.-based bank.

Barnes' career includes serving as president and CEO of Roslindale,Mass.-based Cooperative Bank,and he has also been a deputy director for examinations, supervision and consumerprotection at the Office of Thrift Supervision.

Anderson used to be Metro DC regional president for unit, Vienna,Va.-based United Bank,and executive vice president and chief lending officer of Arlington, Va.-based .

National Capital Bank of Washington on May 3 reported first-quarternet income of $1.8 million, or $6.32 per share, compared to $366,000, or $1.27 pershare, earned in the year-ago quarter.
