John Wood Group PLC said Oct. 8 that Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries LLC awarded it a "multi-million dollar" contract to provide two Terrace Wall double-fired delayed coker heaters to a refinery in the southeastern coast of Oman.
The contract is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020 and will be delivered by the company's specialists based in New Jersey.
"Wood has an established track record in the design and development of fired heaters spanning more than a century and this contract also expands our footprint further in the Middle East," Wood's specialist technical solutions business CEO, Bob MacDonald, said.
Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Co. LLC is a joint venture between the Oman Oil Company SAOC and Kuwait Petroleum International Ltd., a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corp. Its refinery and petrochemical complex will have the capacity to process around 230,000 barrels of crude oil per day upon completion.
