Chemung Financial completes CEO transition

Anders Tomson assumed the position of president and CEO of Chemung Financial Corp. and unit Chemung Canal Trust Co. in a transition previously announced in May.

Tomson succeeds Ronald Bentley, who retired as CEO Dec. 22. But Bentley will remain on the board and will also be a part-time employee of the bank to serve as an adviser to the company.

A news release also noted Tomson's election to the board of the company and the bank. He will stand for shareholder election at the company's annual shareholders' meeting in May 2017.
