State Street shareholders approve easing of voting standard

Shareholders of Boston-based State Street Corp. have approved a proposal to implement a majority voting standard for specified corporate action.

The company previously required an affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the company's outstanding common shares.

More than 85% of the outstanding shares voted in favor of the proposal.
