Anthem CFO to step down

Anthem Inc.said John Gallina will succeed Wayne DeVeydt as executive vice president andCFO on June 1.

DeVeydt decided to step down as executive vice president andCFO, effective May 31, due to family commitments and philanthropic work, thecompany said. He has been serving the insurer for more than 10 years.

Gallina has been with Anthem or one of its affiliatedcompanies since 1994 and currentlyserves as senior vice president and CFO for Anthem's commercial and specialtybusiness division.

In addition, Anthem said it net income for fullyear 2016 to be greater than $9.65 per share, including greater than $1.15 pershare of net unfavorable items. Excluding these items, adjusted net income isstill expected to be greater than $10.80 per share.
