S&P Global Ratings placed 's A-financial strength and long-term counterparty credit ratings on CreditWatchwith negative implications after it placed the ratings of the insurer's parent, , on the sameCreditWatch placement.
The rating agency said Oct. 12 that it expects to resolve orupdate the CreditWatch placement within the next 90 days, after resolving theplacement on NN Group. S&P placed the ratings of NN Group onCreditWatch following its offer to acquire Delta Lloyd NV.
The rating agency said it may affirm the ratings of NN LifeInsurance Japan if the current ratings of the core subsidiaries of NN Group aremaintained or lowered to A from A+. On the other hand, the ratings of theJapanese insurer may be downgraded if the ratings of the core subsidiaries ofthe group are downgraded to A- from the current A+.
