I-bank Freeman adds co-head of financial technology

Financial services-focused investment bank Freeman & Co. LLC has added Tony Seto as an executive director and co-head of financial technology.

Seto started with Freeman on Jan. 23, the company said in an email. He will aim to expand Freeman's financial technology coverage by focusing on areas such as payments and transaction processing.

Chris Pedone, Freeman's other co-head of financial technology, focuses on fintech in the areas of asset and wealth management, along with the trading and capital markets businesses.

Before joining Freeman, Seto worked at investment bank Portico Capital Securities LLC for about 10 years. At Portico, he advised on M&A and private capital-raising transactions in the financial technology, digital media and marketing sectors.

A couple of transactions that Seto helped work on include an $80 million capital raise for Kount Inc. from CVC Capital Partners and the $65 million sale of Transaction Wireless Inc. to First Data Corp.

Freeman also recently added Michael Zampardi as a managing director and head of capital placement.

Founded in 1991, Freeman offers M&A advisory, underwriting, consulting and other services to financial institutions. The company's broker/dealer is Freeman & Co. Securities LLC.
