U.S. hotels recorded positive performance for the week ended Aug. 4, according to STR data.
Year over year, revenue per available room rose 4.1% to $100.07, and average daily rate increased 3.1% to finish the week at $132.88. Occupancy rose 1.0%, to 75.3%.
Chicago recorded the highest RevPAR uptick of the top 25 U.S. markets at 15.2% to $146.20 and saw the largest increase in ADR, adding 11.0% to $171.97.
St. Louis, Mo.-Ill., recorded the largest uptick in occupancy, with the metric rising 9.5%, to 76.1%.
Denver saw RevPAR drop 10.0% to $118.34, the largest decrease. The market also posted the biggest ADR decrease, dropping 4.8% to $140.02, and saw the largest decline in occupancy, falling 5.4%, to 84.5%.
