S&P upgrades VEB-Leasing

S&P Global Ratings on Feb. 28 upgraded Russia-based VEB-Leasing JSC's long- and short-term foreign-currency issuer credit ratings to BBB-/A-3 from BB+/B and local-currency ratings to BBB/A-2 and BBB-/A-3, with stable outlooks on the long-term ratings.

The upgrade follows a similar action on the ratings of VEB-Leasing's parent, Vnesheconombank, on the back of S&P's upgrade of Russia. The stable outlook mirrors that on Vnesheconombank.

The agency said it continues to view VEB-Leasing as a core subsidiary of Vnesheconombank, and that it expects the unit to receive ongoing and extraordinary support from the parent in the form of capital and liquidity.
