The SEC has appointed Narahari Phatak associate director for policy in the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis, where he will lead development of economic analyses in support of the commission's rulemaking activity.

The division covers asset management, corporate finance, financial intermediaries and market structure in particular. Phatak has been a member of the division since 2012.
