Komet ResourcesInc. said March 29 that a maiden NI 43-101 compliant resource estimatefor its Guiro gold vein, part of the Guiro-Diougalicense in Burkina Faso, estimated a measured and indicated resource of 440,000tonnes at 6.2 g/t of gold for 88,300 ounces.
The resource also includes an inferred component of 502,000 tonnesat 3.3 g/t of gold for 53,400 ounces, and was generated from an underground channelsampling program and a 35 core drill hole campaign totaling 4,434 meters and completedin the Guiro mining zone by Komet in 2015.
"Once included in the mining plan, the measured and indicatedresources will be wholly or in part converted into mining reserves which shouldprovide ore feed to the mining operation for at least the next 18 months in thecurrent levels of the mine," said President and CEO Andre Gagne.
"The mineralized zone remains open to the west and at depthunder the actual mining levels. A core drilling program should upgrade the qualityof the inferred resources contained in these peripheral areas into indicated andmeasured categories."
