Cboe Global Markets Inc. and MSCI Inc. are launching derivatives-based benchmark and volatility indexes based on MSCI's emerging markets and EAFE indexes.
The MSCI emerging markets index tracks large- and mid-capitalization companies across 23 emerging market countries, while the MSCI EAFE index is comprised of MSCI country indexes that represent developed markets in Europe, Australasia and the Far East.
Indexes that will be launched under the Cboe-MSCI partnership will be the same as Cboe's S&P Dow Jones and FTSE Russell index products. Cboe said it may develop up to 50 indexes over time.
