Nippon Seiki Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥69.81 per share, a gain of 74.0% from ¥40.12 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥4.00 billion, an increase of 74.0% from ¥2.30 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 7.3% from 4.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose on an annual basis to ¥55.00 billion from ¥53.87 billion, and total operating expenses climbed year over year to ¥51.03 billion from ¥49.73 billion.
Reported net income grew 69.7% year over year to ¥3.95 billion, or ¥68.96 per share, from ¥2.33 billion, or ¥40.65 per share.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
