ECB holds rates, QE

The ECB on Jan. 19 maintained its benchmark interest rates and kept its quantitative easing program unchanged.

The rate on the ECB's deposit facility remains at negative 0.4%, while those on the main refinancing operations and marginal lending facility stay at zero percent and 0.25%, respectively.

The ECB also stuck by its plan to scale down its asset purchase program beginning in April, saying it would buy €80 billion a month of assets through March and then €60 billion a month through at least the end of 2017.
