Farmers Insurance reports claims from Calif. wildfires in October

Farmers Insurance has received, to date, more than 4,000 claims from the wildfires that impacted Northern California in October.

The claims have an estimated gross cost of $1.2 billion. With reinsurance, Farmers estimates an incurred loss of $140 million. After reinsurance and taxes, Farmers expects a net incurred loss of $90 million.

The fires affected Butte, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Sonoma and Yuba counties.
