AerCap Holdings NV reported second-quarter net income attributable to the company of $254.2 million, or $1.70 per share, compared to $282.9 million, or $1.67 per share, in the year-ago period.
The S&P Capital IQ consensus GAAP EPS estimate for the quarter was $1.48.
The decrease in net income was primarily driven by lower other income and a decrease in net gain on sale of assets, which fell year over year to $51.2 million in the second quarter from $69.5 million. The increase in EPS was primarily driven by the repurchase of 24.9 million shares from April 2017 through June 2018.

The company's book value per share was $59.25 as of June 30, up 12% since $53.06 as of June 30, 2017.
