JD.com partners with US startup accelerator Plug and Play

JD.com Inc. on Dec. 8 said it partnered with accelerator program Plug and Play Tech Center to help Silicon Valley startups develop technology to improve retail and logistics.

The partnership will include "a range of technologies," including artificial intelligence and smart supply chain.

The U.S.-based startup accelerator will be responsible for project selection and mentorship, while the Chinese e-commerce giant will share its consumer insights and expertise in retail.

JD added that it will use the projects developed from the partnership to improve its systems, and any startup under the program can sell its products on JD's e-commerce platform.
