EDF Renewables selects Vestas to supply turbines for South African wind project

EDF Renewables Inc. has selected Vestas Wind Systems A/S to provide engineering, procurement and construction solution for the 35-MW Wesley wind project in South Africa.

The contract comprises supply, installation and commissioning of 10 V126-3.45 MW turbines. Vestas will also commence a 15-year, full-scope service agreement upon the expected completion of the project in the second half 2020, according to a June 3 news release. Deliveries are expected to begin in the first half of 2020.
