SunPower to sell 125-MW solar development in Nevada

SunPower Corp. filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission seeking approval to sell its planned Boulder Solar III project in Clark County, Nev.

Under the proposed transaction, ownership of the facility, under development with a nameplate capacity of 125 MW, will be split between a subsidiary of Hanwha Energy Corp. with 70%, and KOMIPO America Inc. with 30%. KOMIPO America Inc. is a subsidiary of Korea Electric Power Corp.

The solar facility is not expected to be in commercial operation until the fourth quarter of 2020 at the earliest, according to an application submitted to FERC on Aug. 9.

The commission was asked to approve the deal by Sept. 13. (FERC docket EC18-134)
