* Biopharmaceutical company Imara Inc., which focuses on sickle cell disease and other hemoglobinopathies, closed on $63 million in a series B crossover funding round co-led by new investors OrbiMed Advisors LLC and Arix Bioscience PLC. RA Capital Management LLC and Rock Springs Capital Management LP, as well as current sponsors New Enterprise Associates, Pfizer Venture Investments, Lundbeckfond Ventures, Bay City Capital LLC and Alexandria Venture Investments LLC participated in the round. Imara secured $31.0 million in series A funding in April 2016.
* AMoon Partners led a US$35 million series B financing round for biomedical technology company Theranica Bio-Electronics Ltd., together with existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, LionBird (Ventures) Ltd., Corundum Innovation and Takoa Invest Oy.
* Regulatory technology company TookiTaki Pte. Ltd. received US$7.5 million in a series A round co-led by Illuminate Financial Management LLP and Jungle Ventures. Other participants included Enterprise Singapore, Supply Chain Angels and VWX Capital.
